CitizensNgage is a replicable civic activation methodology that transforms civic awareness into community-level action and institutional dialogue, meeting young people around real issues they already feel the weight of.
CitizensNgage is the flagship programme of Creative Ideation Hub (CiH), operationalising its theory of change through a three-stage civic activation model designed to transform passive awareness into sustained community action.
The Three-Stage Model
Awaken: Meeting young people around real local issues they already feel the weight of, sparking civic consciousness and connecting abstract governance concepts to lived experience.
Educate: Equipping them with knowledge of how governance, policy, and power actually work, building the civic literacy needed to participate meaningfully in democratic processes.
Enable: Providing the space, tools, and resources to act as genuine agents of change in their communities, not just as participants but as leaders and innovators.
Programme Arc
The full programme arc runs from Engage, through Build Capacity, Pitch, Resource, and Activate. This is a replicable methodology that transforms civic awareness into community-level action and institutional dialogue. It draws directly on Busayo's decade of experience building citizen engagement programmes across Africa through the FollowTheMoney movement.
Scale Ambition
The long-term ambition is to scale CitizensNgage across 15+ UK local councils by 2030, embedding youth civic participation as a standard practice in local democracy rather than an occasional intervention.
